• Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I do not accept insurance and am private pay only, however I am able to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company at your request. Please see the Investment section for additional information.

  • Do you offer in person sessions?

I do not offer in person sessions. I exclusively offer Telehealth sessions for the state of Missouri via a secure platform called Simple Practice to ensure your information is kept confidential.

  • How will I know you're the right counselor for me?

Most individuals know their counselor is a good fit after the first session or two. However, the only way to know for sure is to contact me! I offer a free 15 minute consultation to determine if we would be a good fit. If not, I can refer you to other providers who may be more appropriate for your concerns. Research shows that the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of successful treatment. I encourage you to interview several providers before beginning your journey to determine who is the best match for you.

  • Is online counseling right for me?

Telehealth sessions can be incredibly convenient and are as effective as in person sessions. It’s based on personal preference, but I would recommend you be comfortable with technology, have a strong internet connection and a private area that is free from distractions.

  • How long is a counseling session?

Each session will be 50 minutes, which is the standard length of most counseling sessions, unless we have discussed different arrangements.

  • How long will I be in counseling?

Session frequency will depend on the need of each individual client. Some clients report feeling some relief after a few sessions, while others may be longer. Counseling can be challenging and may cause discomfort at times, but this is normal and expected as difficult topics are explored. Length of therapy also depends on your commitment to the process and the effort you’re willing to invest. I often compare therapy to driving a car - you’re in the driver seat. You have access to the brake and accelerator. I’m just along for the ride and helping you navigate on your journey, but YOU’RE in control.
